Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds

As the rumors of a solo album continued to flood the gossip lines after his departure from the band Oasis in August of 2009; Noel Gallagher teamed up with Oasis pianist Mike Rowe, drummer Jeremy Stacey of The Lemon Trees and percussionist Lenny Castro in Manchester, England to form Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds. The band is currently touring the UK and Ireland with plans to perform in both North America and Europe over the next three months. Sour Mash Records will release the band’s debut, self-titled album in October. Singles such as “The Death of You and Me” and “If I Had a Gun…” (which you can currently hear on the Tiger) are a few tracks on this upcoming album. Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds will continue to demonstrate their alternative rock attitude as their new album is introduced to the world. Although the bulk of Oasis has transformed itself into the band Beady Eye, lead guitarist Noel Gallagher continues to show off his artistic abilities with Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds.

Coldplay

Forming in 1999 at the University College London, the alternative rock band Coldplay has since sold over 50 million records worldwide. This fact alone makes Coldplay one of the world’s best selling music artists. Their first two albums earned the band immediate attention and several Grammy awards and nominations. Parachutes, which was released in 2000 by Parlophone Records, was billed as one of the most impressive debut albums according to the British trade paper Music Week; and was placed #12 on the UK’s list of 20 biggest-selling albums of the 21st century. To follow up the success of Parachutes, Coldplay released their second album A Rush of Blood to the Head in August of 2002. Like the debut album A Rush of Blood… received extensive critical review and was placed at #473 on the Rolling Stones’ 500 Greatest Albums of All Time. The band is currently touring the US promoting the release of their fifth album Mylo Xyloto, on October 24th and you can get an idea of the cd by listening for the latest single “Paradise” on the Tiger.
