Mid-day Mystery Theatre
Tune in to Will on The Tiger weekdays from 10a to 3p.
Will has a neverending quest to take more requests than the other DJs, so do your part at 826-ROCK. Everyday around 1:50, Will brings you the Tiger New Release Schedule, with each day of the week focusing on a different entertainment medium. Mondays are concerned with movies on DVD, Tuesdays are about new album releases, Wednesdays focus on TV shows and specials on DVD, Thursdays are new video game releases for various platforms, and Fridays deal with the newest batch of films in theaters. This is all followed immediately by Modern Rock News.
1:20 harbingers a trip into the Alt-Vault. Will digs through the Tiger vaults (as well as his own personal collection) to play some tunes you might have forgotten about, or maybe something you haven’t heard, but should. One-hit wonders, album tracks from major artists, and some songs “borrowed” (read: stolen, Coldplay-style) from the Flashback Lunch all make appearances.
10:20 brings the Offbeat Online, where Will finds one of the many goofy things on the web to talk about, and 10:50 sees The Late Night TV Check, where we divulge who’s playing on the tube each night of the week.
11:20 features Sports Subversion, with frank remarks about the most important thing in the world – sports. Art-official Intelligence follows at 11:35, where we catch you up on what’s going on at the Jule Collins Smith Museum of Fine Art, and then our That’s Original cover song plays around 11:45.
Of course, you also get some of Will’s trademark sarcastic takes on the world (read: bitter, bitter cynicism), hourly weather updates (read: bitter, bitter cynicism directed at the weatherman), and, of course, the very best in alternative rock (with bitter, bitter cynicism directed at bad bands). Look out for artist interviews, and Will’s legendary Sunkist-lust, too. It’s fun for the whole family (except that weird uncle you’ve got, don’t invite him). Oh, and don’t forget: All your requests are belong to us at 826-ROCK.
