Felix closed out the Tokyo Olympics by winning a gold medal in the women’s 400 meter spring relay, making her the most decorated U.S. track and field athlete of all-time with 11 career medals.

She broke Carl Lewis’ previous record of 10, and she accomplished this at the age of 36.

This was Felix’s first Olympics since giving birth to her daughter Camryn, and she proved that she still had what it takes to win medals.

With a legendary career that might be coming to a close, she leaves Japan as a bonafide American hero.
