Each week, I will look at a movie that is currently in theaters or available to stream and give some reasons why people should watch it. This isn’t necessarily a film critique, rather, an overview of what I think is enjoyable about the film, and why it’s worth seeing. This week we’ll be looking at the Netflix hit, Red Notice, starring Ryan Reynolds, Dwayne Johnson, and Gal Gadot.

Red Notice was the most streamed movie released to Netflix on its’ opening weekend ever and it’s not hard to see why. A star studded cast, a bit of humor, a bit of action, a bit twist, and this is clearly a movie that could’ve hit the 100 million mark at the box office if it had gone that route. Say what you will of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and what kind of movies he appears in, he’s one of the most charismatic actors out there, and pairing him with another of the most charismatic actors out there in Ryan Reynolds is a treat. As always, Gal Gadot is captivating, and plays a wonderfully mysterious character. It truly is a great trio. Those three elevate the story and the action around them. It’s fairly thrilling, and it’s a solid story, but with those three it just feels more significant. This is one of those movies that will be a solid base line for the viewer. If you don’t like any of these three actors you probably won’t love the movie, but if you do, it’ll be very hard to not find some enjoyment. With the popularity of these actors and the amount the movie was watched, it’s clear Red Notice has put the streaming world on notice.

Red Notice is currently available to be streamed on Netflix.
