R&B group Kool and the Gang was surprised when, of all people, rock group Van Halen asked them to be their opener on their Van Halen tour in 2012.
While they play drastically different styles of music, an unlikely bond formed between both groups, and Van Halen fans slowly gravitated towards embracing the R&B legends on stage.
