Going Hog Wild

Every week, we’ll be previewing Auburn football’s upcoming opponent. This week, it’s the Arkansas Razorbacks.

Arkansas has one of the newer head coaches in the SEC, with Sam Pittman having only held the position since 2020. While Arkansas only won three games during the shortened 2020 season, it was easy to see that the Hogs were much more competitive.

This season, the Razorbacks are 4-2, but are on a two-game losing streak. Starting the season strong, Arkansas beat both Texas and Texas A&M, but have fallen the last two weeks in a blowout against Georgia, 31-0,  and a shootout with Ole Miss, that finished 52-51.

Players to watch for:

Quarterback KJ Jefferson: Jefferson has had a very strong season thus far. He has thrown for over 1,200 yards and nine touchdowns to three interceptions. He has also carried the ball 60 times for over 300 yards, making him the Hogs third-leading rusher.

Linebacker Bumper Pool: A starter since 2019, Pool has been a mainstay for the Hogs for a long time. He currently leads Arkansas in tackles with 61, which is 10 more than the next highest defender.
