Several members of the U.S. Congress have considered honoring Prince with a congressional gold medal for his “impact to the culture.”
The proposal was spearheaded by Congresswoman Ilhan Omar and Senator Amy Klobuchar, and in order for Prince to receive this recognition, at least two-thirds of the House and Senate must approve the resolution before it can be signed into law by President Biden.
