Each week, I will look at a movie that is currently in theaters or available to stream and give some reasons why people should watch it. This isn’t necessarily a film critique, rather, an overview of what I think is enjoyable about the film, and why it’s worth seeing. For our first movie, here’s why you should go see Venom: Let There Be Carnage, now in theaters.

The second Venom movie stars Tom Hardy again as Eddie Brock, and Woody Harrelson as the main villain, Cletus Kasady AKA Carnage. Easily enjoyable is the presence of Venom throughout the entire movie, instead of just half of the first entry in the series. Most of the humor in the movie derives there and is good to pull from at any time. I also think Harrelson plays a good villain, no surprise here, Harrelson has always been a quality actor and he brings a certain insane, creepy vibe that fits the criteria for a villain in this context. While Let There Be Carnage may fall just short of the original Venom from three years ago, I think this movie provides enough laughs and action to please the viewer if you enjoyed the first movie.

Venom: Let There Be Carnage  arrived at the box office in the beginning of October to a opening that broke pandemic era box office records, and should still be playing in theaters near you for several more weeks.
