Then: After singing at various nightclubs around New York City for around $100 a week, Streisand landed on broadway in 1960. The show didn’t last long though, and Streisand was back to singing at nightclubs. A year later, however, she would end up back on Broadway in a much more successful show, in which she dazzled audiences. She would then go on to star in several television shows, before releasing her first solo album in 1963. She was 21 years old.

Now: Streisand continues to act, sing, and be adored by most of the public. She is one of only 21 people to win an Emmy, a Grammy, an Oscar, and a Tony award, most commonly referred to an “EGOT.” Her career has spanned over 60 years. Her most recent release came in 2018, when she released the album Walls, a politically charged album focusing on the current state of the country.
