Legendary guitarist Carlos Santana collapsed onstage tonight (July 5) during a performance at the Pine Knob Music Theatre in Michigan.
The 74-year-old rocker was approximately 55 minutes into the show when he began to introduce “Joy,” a collaboration with Chris Stapleton that was released on 2021’s Blessings and Miracles. After describing the song as “mystical medicine music to heal a world infected with fear,” Santana and his namesake band launched into the tune. The guitarist then walked over to a riser, sat down and appeared to pass out.
