Pitt Panthers running back Israel Abanikanda is SportsCall’s Player of the Week, brought to you by Eric McDade State Farm!
The junior put up astounding numbers in Pitt’s 45-29 win over Virginia Tech. Abanikanda carried the ball 36 times for 320 yards and six touchdowns to account for all of Pittsburgh’s touchdowns in the game. The yardage set a new single game record, breaking a mark set by Tony Dorsett, and the scores tied a school record set in 1910.
