Kansas State point guard Markquise Nowell is SportsCall’s Player of the Week!
The New York native returned to his hometown for the second round of the NCAA Tournament, and put on a show in Madison Square Garden. In the Sweet 16 matchup against Michigan State, Nowell set an NCAA Tournament record 19 assists in addition to scoring 20 points, leading the Wildcats to a 98-93 victory for a spot in the Elite 8.
In the Elite 8 matchup against Florida Atlantic, Nowell put on another dazzling performance despite the loss, putting up 30 points and 13 assists. For the two games, Nowell was awarded Most Outstanding Player of the Eastern regional.
