Auburn pitcher Maddie Penta is SportsCall’s Player of the Week!
Penta was dominant over the past week, starting three games and pitching 20.2 innings for the Tigers. In those 20+ innings, Penta gave up just six runs, striking out 19 to three walks, and winning all three games.
In her final start of the week, the rubber match against the number 12 LSU Tigers, Penta went 8.2 innings, allowing no runs and only four hits. Her dominant effort allowed the Tigers to walk it off in the bottom of the ninth, and take the series over one of the best teams in the SEC.
