PGA Tour merges with rival LIV Golf

Despite years of arguments, litigation, and accusations, the PGA Tour, its rival, LIV Golf, and the DP World Tour have agreed to a deal to merge into one major golf entity, announced by both organizations on Tuesday morning.

LIV, backed by the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund, had been pulling members of the PGA Tour by way of eight and nine figure contracts, and bigger payouts in tournaments. The PGA Tour combatted players leaving by raising tournament winnings and preaching loyalty, with players who stayed with the PGA calling those who leave traitors.

The new entity has not yet been named.
