American gold medalist Steph Curry is SportsCall’s Player of the Week!
The star guard came up big when his team needed him most over the past week, leading the US to a fifth straight gold medal in Men’s Basketball.
In Thursday’s semi-final, Curry scored an Olympic-Career high 36 points on 12-of-19 shooting, including 9-of-14 from three point range, to help the US climb out of a 17-point deficit against bronze-medalists Serbia, also managing to grab 8 rebounds as the US won by a score of 95-91.
In the gold medal match against host-country France on Saturday, Curry came up huge again, scoring 24 points in total, with 12 points coming on four threes that came with less than three minutes to go in the game, after France had cut the lead to three. Curry went 8-for-13 from the field in the contest, with all eight makes coming from three-point range.
