Auburn quarterback Payton Thorne is SportsCall’s Player of the Week!
The senior captain for Auburn’s squad got off to a hot start in Auburn’s season opener, leading the Tigers to a 73-point explosion in the week 1 win over Alabama A&M.
Thorne completed 13 of his 21 passing attempts for 322 yards and four touchdowns to three different receivers. He also ran the ball four times for 49 yards and another score, en route to a 73-3 victory. All of Thorne’s scoring came in the first half.
