Weathered chalk gullies at the Harrell Station Paleontological Site in Dallas County reveal late Cretaceous sediments underneath, which features fossils.

One of those notable fossils is mosasaurs, marine reptiles that grew 50 feet or more and were prominent creatures during the end of the dinosaur age.
