Like most famous music groups, U2 had a seemingly innocent beginning.
Drummer Larry Mullen Jr, at his dad’s urging, posted a “Musicians wanted” sign on a board at school. The story only grew from there.
Speaking of his father, Mullen said “He was figuring, ‘OK, the kid wants to play drums. How do I help him survive and navigate this, because he’s never going to be a brain surgeon.'”
