Takeaways:

It seems like when the Falcons use the generational tight end they drafted fourth overall good things happen! Kyle Pitts led all receivers in targets and yards this week and it helped the Falcons move that ball down the field way easier. The run game got back on track as Cordarrelle Patterson ran for over 100 yards for the second time this season. You can definitely see signs of this team improving on the offensive side of the ball as the weeks go on…as long as they cut down on late-game mistakes. On the defensive side however, the Falcons still struggle against the passing game. For most of the game, Geno Smith had all the time in the world to go through his progressions and make reads. The defense did do a pretty decent job against the run, and in crunch time they stepped up and got the stops they needed including an interception by Richie Grant to seal the game for the Falcons’ first win of the season. Next week, the Falcons head back home to face a Browns team with a dominant run game and pass attack.
