Takeaways:

This team continues to fly under the radar week in and week out and you can tell the energy surrounding them is different from years’ past. This week the Falcons offensive line again dominated the line of scrimmage against a decimated, but still talented, 49ers defensive line. They allowed only two sacks, and allowed the offense to rush for 168 yards! Arthur Smith has certainly put his signature on the team and made it known that they are going to run the ball with toughness, dominate the clock, and continue to wear down opposing defenses. Marcus Mariota easily played his best game as an Atlanta Falcon completing his first 13 passes, throwing for two touchdowns and rushing for another. Kyle Pitts also caught his first touchdown of the season in his return back from a hamstring injury, which bodes well that his usage will continue to increase. The defense bent but didn’t break and forced three turnovers. This unit continues to show growth as the weeks go on. Next week, the Falcons travel to Cincinnati to face a dynamic offense run by Joe Burrow that will surely put the pass defense to the test, especially with the recent injuries to corners AJ Terrell and Casey Hayward.
