Takeaways:

Week to week the common factor when it comes to the Falcons struggle is the secondary. Today, even against a Chargers passing attack missing Kennan Allen and Mike Williams, still allowed a 100-yard receiver. Of course the secondary is still beat up, but the fact still remains that the position is still not one with depth. It was a known fact that the Chargers struggled mightily against the run, and the Falcons did rush for 201 yards, but it still didn’t seem like they took as much advantage of that matchup as they should have especially since the passing game is still not a strength of the team. Rookie back Tyler Allgeier ran for 99 yards on just 10 carries, and Cordarrelle Patterson was officially back as he scored two touchdowns himself on the ground. Up next the Falcons go to Carolina on a short week for Thursday Night Football with a chance to get back on track after this tough, narrow loss.
