Argentinian forward Lionel Messi is SportsCall’s Player of the Week, presented by Eric McDade State Farm!
The 35-year-old legend cemented his GOAT status by winning his first ever World Cup this past weekend as he led Argentina past France in the final. Messi scored two goals in the Final and netted his attempt in the penalty shootout to finally raise the one trophy that has eluded him throughout his career.
Throughout the tournament, Messi never subbed out in the seven games played, scoring seven goals himself and assisting on three. After the tournament, Messi was awarded the Golden Boot as the top player in the tournament.
