The Michigan State transfer had his best game as a Tiger against Samford, going 24-for-32 through the air for 282 yards and a touchdown. He also had the best rushing performance of his career, gaining 123 yards on the ground, beating his previous career high of 47, and scoring twice.
Thorne’s big performance led Auburn to a 45-13 win over Samford in Auburn’s last tune-up game before heading to College Station to open SEC play.
