Auburn pitcher Carson Myers is SportsCall’s Player of the Week!
The junior transfer out of UAB had a outstanding showing in his first start as a Tiger against Eastern Kentucky on Sunday, throwing six complete shutout innings and notching a career-high eight strikeouts.
It was also the first time in Myers’ college career that his father Matt was able to watch his son play. After the game, the lefty said it was his father’s attendance that made the day special, and forced him to elevate his game.
For the performance, Myers was named SEC Co-Pitcher of the Week.
