Auburn center Johni Broome is SportsCall’s Player of the Week!
The All-American put up big numbers in the SEC Tournament this weekend, as Auburn won three games in three days to win the competition for the third time in school history, and the second time under head coach Bruce Pearl.
In the opening game against South Carolina on Friday, Broome put up 18 points and 10 rebounds in 25 minutes, as Auburn dominated the Gamecocks 86-55.
On Saturday against Mississippi State, Broome scored 10 points and grabbed three boards, also playing great defense as Auburn won 73-66 in the Tigers’ closest win on the year.
On Sunday against Florida in the championship game, Broome dominated, scoring 19 points and bringing down 11 rebounds as Auburn won 86-67 to cut down the nets.
Broome also had eight assists and six blocks over the tournament, and earned himself Tournament MVP.
