Auburn center Johni Broome is SportsCall’s Player of the Week!
The pre-season All-American lived up to his billing over the past week, helping the Tigers to a 2-0 start.
In the season opener against Vermont, Broome was steady, scoring 12 points in 22 minutes. He also grabbed seven rebounds, dished out two assists, and had two blocks in the Tigers’ 94-43 victory.
In the game of the weekend against Houston, Broome came through big time, scoring 20 points in 33 minutes, also grabbing nine boards, securing three assists, and sending back five shots to help the Tigers take down the 4th-ranked Cougars 74-69.
Broome’s big week helped the Tigers to climb to #5 in the AP poll, and was named SEC Player of the Week for his efforts.
