On August 1, 1995, a new voice hit the airwaves in, SportsCall. Launched by Bill Cameron and John Rice, the show began as a one-hour program focused on connecting local sports fans with the news and opinions they cared about most. Thirty years later, SportsCall remains a trusted staple for Auburn fans and sports lovers across East Alabama and beyond.

In its early years, SportsCall grew rapidly, expanding to two hours thanks to a simulcast with Power 99 in Tallassee. Co-hosts like Barry McKnight and Andy Burcham joined Cameron, forming a strong foundation that included contributors such as Jasher Cox, Dan Peck, and longtime Auburn beat writers.

The show evolved with the times adding game-day coverage, new stations, and digital platforms. It reached a major milestone in 2015 with its first appearance at SEC Media Days. JJ Jackson took over as full-time host in 2018, bringing on former Auburn athletes like Trovon Reed and Deshaun Davis to give firsthand insight from the field. Ryan Lavoie became the show’s lead host in 2023, continuing the tradition of smart analysis, spirited discussion, and fan-driven interaction.

Now airing three hours a day and streaming nationwide via the Tiger Communications app, SportsCall has never lost sight of its mission: to give fans a voice and deliver the most insightful sports talk around.

Happy 30th Birthday to SportsCall, Auburn’s First and Favorite Sports Talk Show!
