1980- The Police reached the No. 1 spot on the UK album charts for the second time with the band’s third studio release, ‘Zenyatta Mondatta.’ The album featured hit single “Don’t Stand so Close to Me.”

1990- Drummer Dave Grohl played his first gig with Nirvana. The band appeared at the North Shore Surf Club in Olympia, Washington.

2012- The Rolling Stones released the single “Doom and Gloom,” their first new studio
recording since the 2005 album ‘A Bigger Bang.’

2016- Rod Stewart became Sir Rod Stewart after being knighted by the Duke of Cambridge at Buckingham Palace. He was quoted afterwards saying it felt like he was “on cloud nine.”
