1979- Michael Jackson went to No. 1 on the US singles chart with “Don’t Stop ‘til You Get
Enough.” It was his second No. 1 in the US and reached the No. 3 spot in the UK.

1990- George Michael went to No. 1 on the US singles chart with “Praying for Time,” his sixth and final solo single to occupy the top spot.

2016- Bob Dylan was awarded the 2016 Nobel Prize for Literature, becoming the first
songwriter to achieve such a feat. Dylan received the prize “for having created new poetic
expressions within the great American song tradition.”
