The Atlanta Falcons announced the hiring of Kevin Stefanski as the organization’s new head coach, bringing in a veteran leader with extensive experience across multiple roles in the National Football League.

Stefanski most recently served as head coach of the Cleveland Browns, where he guided the franchise to multiple playoff appearances and earned NFL Coach of the Year honors in 2020 and 2023. Under his leadership, the Browns established a physical, run-oriented identity while maximizing quarterback efficiency, most notably helping Baker Mayfield produce one of the most efficient seasons of his career during Cleveland’s 2020 playoff run.

Prior to his time in Cleveland, Stefanski spent more than a decade with the Minnesota Vikings organization in a variety of roles, including offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach. During that span, he played a key role in the development of Kirk Cousins, helping the veteran quarterback post some of the most productive statistical seasons of his career while operating within a balanced offensive system.

“We are excited to welcome Kevin Stefanski to the Atlanta Falcons,” owner Arthur Blank said in a statement. “His proven ability to lead, develop quarterbacks, and build consistent offensive production makes him the right choice for our organization.”

Stefanski expressed enthusiasm about the opportunity to lead Atlanta’s next chapter.

“This is a tremendous opportunity with a talented roster and passionate fan base,” Stefanski said. “Our goal is to build a disciplined, physical football team and create an environment where our players can succeed at a high level.”

Stefanski comes to Atlanta after the Falcons relieved Raheem Morris of his head coaching duties. Morris led the Falcons to consecutive seasons with an 8-9 record.
