1965- The Beatles started a four-week run at No. 1 on the US singles chart with “Yesterday.” This was the group’s 10th US No. 1 however; the track would not be released as a single in the UK until 1976.

1976- One hit wonders Walter Murphy and the Big Apple Band reached the top spot on the US singles chart with “A Fifth of Beethoven.”

1993- Nirvana entered the US album chart at No. 1 with ‘In Utero.’ It was the band’s third and final studio album.
