To celebrate SportsCall’s 25th anniversary, we’re taking a look back at the 25 greatest Auburn football victories in the past 25 years.

Coming in at #18 is Auburn’s 1995 Iron Bowl win over Alabama:

  • The big play in the 1995 Iron Bowl was actually just an incompletion in the box score; Alabama WR Curtis Brown was controversially called incomplete in the back of the end zone and Auburn would win
  • Auburn won its third straight game against Alabama inside Jordan-Hare Stadium, the third time the rivalry had been played there; the Tigers would win one more in 1997 before losing to their rivals at home for the first time in 1999
  • The next day, the Birmingham News published a picture that appeared to show Curtis Brown in bounds with the touchdown that would have given Alabama the win; in the days of no instant replay, however, it would not matter
