As we celebrate SportsCall’s 25th anniversary, we’re taking a look back at the 25 greatest Auburn football games since 1995!

Coming in at #2 is Auburn’s 2013 Iron Bowl win over Alabama:

  • The most anticipated Iron Bowl of all-time delivered the rivalry and college football one of the best endings to a game ever. #1 Alabama came into the Plains 11-0 to visit the #4 Auburn Tigers who stood at 10-1. It was simple: win and represent the West in the SEC Championship
  • The game was even most of the way. Teams traded punches and Alabama struggled with their field goal kicking looking for easy points. Just a few minutes into the fourth quarter, AJ McCarron found Amari Cooper for a 99-yard touchdown that gave the Tide a 28-21 advantage
  • It wasn’t until the clock went under 30 seconds that Auburn would even the score when Nick Marshall found Sammie Coates wide open on a pop pass. Alabama had one more drive to potentially win the game. With a review, one second was put on the clock and HC Nick Saban elected to try a 57-yard field goal that would come up short and be fielded by Chris Davis for a walk-off 109-yard touchdown
