As we celebrate SportsCall’s 25th anniversary, we’re presenting a list of the top 25 Auburn athletes since 1995!
Coming in at #16 is Kirsty Coventry:
- Kirsty Coventry came to Auburn as a native of Zimbabwe and led the Tigers Swimming & Diving team to two NCAA Championships in 2004 and 2005
- Coventry won three medals in the 2004 Olympics in Greece, including a gold in the 200 meter backstroke. In the 2008 Beijing Olympics, Coventry would go on to win four more
- She credits Auburn for helping her achieve that: “Coming over and getting a scholarship to come to Auburn was the biggest thing that could have ever happened to my swimming career.”
