To celebrate SportsCall’s 25th anniversary, we’re taking a look back at the 25 greatest Auburn football victories in the past 25 years.
Coming in at #15 is Auburn’s 2007 win over Florida:
- In 2006, Auburn won the meeting between the Tigers and the Gators inside Jordan-Hare Stadium, but Florida would go on to win the 2006 BCS National Championship despite the loss
- A 2007 matchup between the Gators and the Tigers had revenge and an 11-game winning streak on the line for Florida
- Auburn would get the better of Florida again – this time in the Swamp – as freshman kicker Wes Byrum, a native of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, made a 43-yard game winning field goal as time expired. Byrum would famously imitate the Florida “gator chomp” while celebrating
