As we celebrate SportsCall’s 25th anniversary, we’re taking a look back at the 25 greatest Auburn football wins since 1995!
Coming in at #11 is Auburn’s 2004 win against LSU:
- A top-15 matchup between two rivals kicked off in the third week of the season in 2004. Both #5 LSU and #14 Auburn entered the contest 2-0 with big expectations
- SEC defense ruled the day between the rivals. It was 9-3 with LSU leading late in the fourth quarter before Jason Campbell found Courtney Taylor from 16-yards out to tie the game with 1:16 to go
- Auburn’s star placekicker, John Vaughn, missed the first extra point attempt and it appeared LSU would have a chance to win it. A personal foul on LSU was called and Vaughn got his second chance. He put it through this time and Auburn remained undefeated.
