As we celebrate SportsCall’s 25th anniversary, we’re taking a look back at the 25 greatest Auburn football victories since 1995!
Coming in at #9 is Auburn’s 2001 win over Florida:
- The #1 Florida Gators entered Jordan-Hare Stadium with Rex Grossman, Jabar Gaffney, and Reche Caldwell to take on 4-1 Auburn, led by Daniel Cobb and a freshman Cadillac Williams
- After lots of rain, wind, and an 80-yard touchdown pass from Grossman, the game was unbelievably tied 20-20 with 12 minutes to go in the contest. Karlos Dansby would intercept Grossman late allowing Auburn to set up a game-winning field goal from Damon Duvall
- Auburn upset the #1 team in the country and the fans would rush the field and uproot the field goal post in the south end zone in celebration
