1966- Jimi Hendrix appeared live for the first time in the UK, playing with Cream during their gig at London Polytechnic.

1977- Elton John became the first musician to be honored in New York City’s Madison Square Hall of Fame.

1982- John Cougar went to the top of both the US album and singles chart with album
‘American Fool’ and hit single “Jack and Diane”.

2002- James Blunt left the British army after serving six years in the calvary regiment. His debut album, ‘Back to Bedlam’ would be released two years later in 2004.
