Each week, I will look at a movie that is currently in theaters or available to stream and give some reasons why people should watch it. This isn’t necessarily a film critique, rather, an overview of what I think is enjoyable about the film, and why it’s worth seeing. This week, I’ll be looking at Spider Man: No Way Home.

Warning: light spoilers ahead

What you’ve been hearing about the latest entry into the Spider Man series is entirely true, it’s awesome. Spider Man: No Way Home does everything well, from story to characters to tragedy to triumph. It’s currently holding in the top 25 all time on IMDB for highest rated movies ever, and its box office credentials are even more impressive. No Way Home is currently 4th all time at the Domestic box office with over 700 million dollars, and 6th all time at the worldwide box office at around 1.7 billion dollars earned according to Box Office Mojo. As for the spoiler mentioned above, it’s just a light spoiler but, the usage of the returns of Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire in the multiverse was very well done. Both are not just cameos, they are important in their aide to Tom Holland’s Spider Man, and critical in his growth through the film. Most of the previous films villains return making for a nostalgic trip down memory lane for the franchise, but again, these characters were important to the storyline, and their usage was very effective. One particular scene, which I won’t spoil just hints at that captivated me involved Andrew Garfield’s Spider Man. While the film ultimately is about Tom Holland’s Spidey and the largest defining moments run through him, Garfield has a huge moment that will be hard for any fan of his movies to forget. Ultimately, it’s impossible to leave this movie dissatisfied. There’s no way to know for sure if this is the last Spider Man movie for awhile, but if it is, it went out with a resounding bang, and leaves it’s web as the best Spider Man movie ever made.

Spider Man: No Way Home is now playing in theaters near you.
