Auburn closer Blake Burkhalter is SportsCall’s Player of the Week!
The SEC’s leader in saves stepped up in Auburn’s series win against Oregon State in the Corvallis Super Regional, pitching 3 and 2/3 innings and notching two saves over the three games, and sending the Tigers through to Omaha.
His big performance came in game three, when he was brought in with one out in the 7th inning. With Auburn clinging to a one-run lead, Burkhalter retired all eight batters he faced, including five strikeouts.
