To celebrate SportsCall’s 25th anniversary, we’re taking a look back at the 25 greatest Auburn football victories in the past 25 years.
Coming in at #23 is Auburn’s 2002 Iron Bowl victory against Alabama:
- The 2002 Iron Bowl saw a top-10 and number one SEC offense in the Alabama Crimson Tide host the 7-4 Auburn Tigers
- Freshman Tre Smith was called upon to start the game after stars Ronnie Brown and Cadillac Williams were unable to go due to injury
- Smith ran 25 times for 126 yards to bring Auburn to a 17-0 halftime lead, but Auburn’s defense held the Tide offense to just seven points and secured the win
