This week’s SportsCall Player of the Week is North Carolina quarterback Sam Howell!
Howell led the Tar Heels to a comeback victory over Wake Forest Saturday, scoring 35 unanswered points after trailing by 21 in the middle of the third quarter.
The sophomore signal caller threw for a North Carolina record 550 yards, which is the the third most in ACC history, and tied an ACC record with six touchdown passes, while also rushing for a touchdown.
It was only the second time in ACC history that a player has passed for six touchdowns and ran for a touchdown in a game; Lamar Jackson was the first player to accomplish that feat.
